Area of expertise of the Committee for Civil and Water Engineering

Comprehensive research and analysis of buildings and structures during their design, erection and operation (including environmental conditions), as well as during their maintenance and reconstruction.

 

The main directions of scientific and research activities:

  • loads acting on the object and the response of the structure to loads,
  • interaction between the structure and the soil,
  • building materials,
  • insulating systems,
  • heating, ventilation, water and energy supply, sanitary systems,
  • water engineering structures,
  • road, railroad, bridge engineering,
  • city infrasture,
  • organization and planning of construction

 

The main tasks and forms of activity of the Committee:

  • integration of the scientific and technical community in the fields of science and knowledge represented by the Committee members,
  • development of scientific personnel in the field of scientific disciplines represented in the Committee,
  • cooperation with business entities in inspiring research and implementing its results,
  • promotion of interdisciplinary or multidisciplinary scientific research,
  • cooperation with central and local government agencies and industry institutes,
  • ensuring a high level of publications related to the Committee,
  • promotion of employees associated with the disciplines represented by Committee members,
  • cooperation with Committees within Division IV (and other) of the Polish Academy of Sciences,
  • providing current information on the PAS, including ongoing legal changes and in the scope of its activities.
